Textured synthetic wig with restored curl pattern after a full week of wear

I Wore the Same Wig for 5 Days Straight, Swimming, the Beach, and Halloween. Here's What It Took to Bring It Back

I wore the same wig for 5 days straight, no maintenance at all

Swimming. The beach. A pool day. Halloween. Five days, one install, and I never once picked up a comb, a detangling spray, or a curl mousse. Here's what she looked like afterwards, and what it actually took to bring her back.

The 5 days

This wasn't a lab test. It was a normal, busy week where the wig just came along for everything: swimming, a full day at the beach, a pool, and a Halloween night out. No touch-ups in between. No "just a quick brush" before bed. Nothing.

By day 5, she was tangled and a little rough at the ends, exactly what you'd expect after that much salt water, chlorine, and general wear with zero care in between. This is the part most durability claims skip, so we're not skipping it either: heat-resistant doesn't mean nothing happens to the fibre. It means what happens is fixable.

The 15-minute revamp

Here's the full routine, start to finish, no products beyond what you'd already have for wig care:

  1. Section the hair and apply a detangling spray throughout (any detangling spray made for synthetic hair works, it doesn't need to be a specific brand).
  2. Work through it by hand or with a wide-tooth comb, section by section, from the ends up.
  3. Apply a curl-defining mousse and run it through, this both helps the detangling and starts bringing the curl pattern back.
  4. Repeat the detangling spray and mousse pass on any sections that need it.
  5. Optional: run a heated brush lightly over the ends to smooth away any remaining frizz.

Total time: about 15 minutes. No overnight treatments, no replacement, no giving up on the wig and buying a new one.

Here's the exact routine, filmed start to finish, same three products in the same order:

Why this actually matters

Most "durability" claims in this industry are vague on purpose, because specifics are risky if they're not true. We'd rather tell you exactly what one wig went through and exactly what it took to fix it, so you know what you're actually buying: fibre that can survive a genuinely rough week, and a routine simple enough to do yourself in 15 minutes, not a trip back to us or a replacement order.

And this isn't a one-off. This wig has been worn on holiday, on nights out, installed for days at a time, and revamped repeatedly over two years. Still going:

This is the same heat-resistant synthetic fibre across our whole range, not a special or upgraded version used just for this. If you want the full step-by-step for washing, detangling, and storing between wears, see How to Wash and Care for Your Synthetic Wig.
